Longi Solar LR7-72HVD-645M from the Hi-MO X10 series is a powerful bifacial photovoltaic module with a rated output of 645 W, built in the 72-cell (72HVD) form factor. We recommend this model for industrial solar power plants, ground-mounted commercial sites for a company's own consumption, and scalable private solar plants.

Unlike the LR8 series (which uses a 66-cell configuration), the LR7 (72-cell) series is optimised to deliver a high output voltage at a moderate operating current. This makes it an ideal choice for building long strings and for maximum compatibility with most grid-tie and hybrid inverters.

Technical advantages and innovations of the Hi-MO X10 series

  • HPBC 2.0 cell technology: A new generation of cells with all contacts placed on the rear side (Back Contact). The absence of metal grids on the front side eliminates shading of the silicon and delivers a maximum module efficiency of up to 23.9%.

  • Bifacial generation (Bifacial Double Glass): The design with double tempered glass (2.0 mm + 2.0 mm) captures reflected light with the rear side. Depending on the albedo of the surface (gravel, concrete, light-coloured membrane) and the mounting height, this adds from 5% to 25% to the final electricity yield.

  • Low temperature coefficient (-0.29%/°C): The panel maintains consistently high generation even in summer heat, losing significantly less power to heating than PERC technology.

  • Minimal degradation: Resistance to LID and PID effects guarantees a first-year power loss of less than 1%, while the annual linear degradation over 30 years does not exceed 0.4%.

  • Enhanced protection against microcracks: HPBC 2.0 technology offers high mechanical resistance to local stresses, minimising the risk of hot spots forming during transport and installation.

Installation and design experience

From the practice of our installation crews: Thanks to its 72-cell layout, the LR7-72HVD-645M delivers a higher open-circuit voltage (Voc) than 66-cell panels of comparable output.

  • String optimisation: The higher voltage makes it possible to build longer series chains (strings) without exceeding the inverter's current limits. This reduces the overall consumption of solar cable and the number of connectors on site.

  • Physical parameters: The module has industrial dimensions (approximately 2382 × 1134 × 30 mm) and a weight of around 33.5–34 kg. Two or three installers are essential for safe lifting and positioning on the structure.

  • Mechanical strength: The double glass provides reliable protection against wind (up to 2400 Pa) and snow (up to 5400 Pa) loads. When mounting on ground-based steel structures, we always observe the recommended clamp fixing points in order to preserve the factory warranty.

Who it suits

✅ For sites with bifacial mounting, where it is possible to use light reflected from the ground or from a white roof covering.

Who it may not suit

❌ For small pitched roofs with a complex geometric profile. The large dimensions of the 72-cell module make it harder to place on roofs with many levels, chimneys or dormer windows.
